Counselling

Connect Community Church Counselling service offers short, medium, and long-term counselling, which we endeavour to make accessible and affordable to all. Our service extends help and support to adults experiencing a range of personal problems, such as: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, abuse, self-harm, DID, addiction and many other mental health diagnoses.

Our clients are listened to in a non-judgemental way and can explore their difficulties, thoughts, and feelings in a safe and confidential space.

The team is also able to offer online sessions if preferred.

Connect Counsellors are all members of a governing body: NCS (National Counselling Society), BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy), and work within their ethical frameworks of good practice. Counsellors are regularly supervised, indemnity insured, hold DBS enhanced certificates, are ICO members, safeguarding proficient, Data trained, qualified to hold online sessions, maintain individual self-development, and are dedicated to continuing their professional development as specified by their governing bodies.

Our service only accepts counsellors who are accepted by recognised training establishments and are working towards their Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4, Psychotherapeutic higher diploma, Masters, or Doctorates within the counselling profession. Many of our therapists have higher qualifications and additional training and experience in other fields such as Psychology, Addiction, Nursing, Occupational therapy etc, and other individual specialisms.

If you consider counselling with us, you will be asked to complete a free initial assessment on the phone or in person, once completed you will be placed on our waiting list for the next available counsellor who best suits your needs. Our fees are dependent upon your income; we offer reduced fees for those on lower incomes and benefits. Once allocated to a counsellor you will be offered 50-minute sessions booked for the same day and time each week.
