Community Lunch for Families

Here at the Connect Centre we provide a drop in meal three times a week. We provide a breakfast on a Monday, a soup on a Friday and a full two course meal on Wednesdays. At each of these community lunches we serve the most vulnerable and most in need people within our community with food, support, friendship, guidance and advice.

We are increasingly seeing the presence of families at these, except we are experiencing a peak in term breaks, every week, families with small children do attend these sessions, but during term breaks, we can serve up to 40 extra meals a week.

We have come to learn that there are likely families that will need our support through the half terms and summer breaks, and so, for 13 weeks per year, whilst the schools are closed we are launching a community lunch for families.

Families at this lunch will be provided with:

  • A warm welcome

  • A hot meal for everyone free of charge  (vegetarian and meat option available, further dietary requirements can be provided for, but please call ahead)

  • A friendly face

  • Support, advice and guidance should they need it

The team here at Elim Connect Centre are highly skilled and dedicated to being a supporting organisation for the City of Wells.

There is no need for a referral, just turn up on Term Break only, Thursday’s between 12-2pm.

All of our staff and volunteers are trained to deal with Safeguarding, Supporting, Befriending and serving food.

All adults attending must be accompanied by a child and will be required to sign in at arrival. Attendees are invited to sign up before hand, but there is no requirement to do so.
